The Queen City High School boys’ basketball program along with the varsity cheerleaders hosted the Second Annual Santa Slam on Dec. 8, at Eugene Sloan Memorial Gymnasium. Spectators were encouraged to bring a new stuffed animal to the game in lieu of paying a fee for admission. When the Bulldogs scored their first points of the game, fans threw their stuffed animals onto the gym floor. All the toys collected will be used to help provide Christmas gifts for needy families in Cass County. Photo by PHYLLIS WARREN

CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital - Atlanta and Genesis PrimeCare Ellington Memorial Clinic presented “Cruise through Christmas,” a community holiday celebration, Monday night at the hospital located at 1007 South William Street.

The Copper Pine

The Copper Pine Kitchen and Home, formerly known as The Kitchenette, in Price Hardware at 302 N. Williams Street held their Grand Opening Thursday, Oct. 22. Owners Amy and Lance Cowling, along with members and guests of the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, were present for the official ribbon cutting. The new store has a wide variety of kitchen and home items, including fresh coffee beans, Lodge Cast Iron, Kitchenaid mixers and accessories, as well as many other kitchen and gift ideas.
