And just like that, the first entire month of the year is behind us. I hope the first month of 2020 was as productive for you as it was for me! The year has gotten off to a roaring start and we’ve had even more developments for the LEDC than I’ve been able to mention in these articles. However, I’m certainly excited about getting to work hard to get the word out and I plan to continue using these articles as periodic updates.
A press release was issued Monday, February 10, 2020, from Superintendent Sidney Harrist after an Atlanta High School Assistant Principal received a report that an AlSD student had a gun on campus. According to the report, the Assistant Principal immediately notified the AlSD Police Department of the account. A search of the student in question and his belongings was then conducted by the AlSD Police Department. The student was placed under arrest after his possession of a gun on campus was confirmed.
When people drove by last week they probably noticed that cleanup began on Hiram Street after the Oct. 17 fire that destroyed two buildings and caused severe damage to others.
