Mark Epperson Chapter U.S.D. 1812 Librarian Tammie Duncan Blackburn presented 40 books to Linden Public Library. Most are children’s books with science or history subjects. Others are history books for the nonfiction section of the library. On July 12, 2021 at approximately 2:00 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were notified of a traffic crash on SH 155 in Cass County about two miles south of Avinger. Preliminary investigation indicates a 2005 Peterbuilt Truck-Tractor which was towing a trailer were traveling northeast on SH 155. For an as yet undetermined reason, the driver of the Peterbuilt lost control of the vehicle and it left the roadway striking several trees. There was heavy rain reported in the area at the time of the crash.
