Charming, beautiful, friendly, and safe have all been used to describe the downtown Atlanta area. Indeed, with its many shops, eateries, and even events, the downtown area is a thriving hub of dining, retail therapy, serving all manner of needs. However, as the saying goes, it takes a village and that village comes in the guise of the Atlanta Downtown Merchants Association.
In the powerful words of John Steinbeck, “In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explodes and every sunset is different.” In this time of uncertainty, take the time to look around you and see the wonder in the world. This week, in honor of June and all the beautiful flowers, I am sharing a wonderful recipe from edible flowers that you can pick and pluck. From teas, to salads, or even jelly, wildflowers can be a great unexpected addition to your arsenal of kitchen spices. Grab a basket to go foraging with, and that apron, we are cooking with flower power!
It feels like summer has started a few weeks early. Humidity is up, the mosquitos are out, and I’ve already gotten my first sunburn of the season—but at least we can see the sun!
