City Council discuss pandemic response plan

The Atlanta City Council met Monday evening to discuss a pandemic response plan that will limit the city employees’ exposure to the public, provide relief for loss of staff due to illness, prescribes methods of sanitization, and includes the temporary closure of the Atlanta Public Library. The Atlanta Library will close on Thursday, Mar.l9th for two weeks. Further closure of the library will be considered and assessed at the end of the two-week period.

A Message from the Mayor

Events across our nation have been cancelled or postponed in an effort to diminish the spread of the COVID-19 virus, commonly referred to as the Corona Virus. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the US.

Cobblestone celebrated their Grand Re-opening on Monday morning. Hosted by the Atlanta Area Chamber of Commerce, the celebration included a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an open house to showcase the newly remodeled building after a brief closure due to the downtown fire in October.
