Rosalyn Spradley presented a special Black History Month program on the Tuskegee Airmen to the Cass County Genealogical Society on Feb. 12.The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American military aviators in the United States Armed Forces.
Simon, a man who ventured to Jerusalem for the Passover but found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Matthew 27: 32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear the cross. 33: and when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, Simon was from Northern Africa a city called Cyrene. He was probably a healthy-looking young man for the Roman Soldiers picked him out the crowd to carry the cross for Jesus. He did not know what was going on, he saw Jesus, whipped, beaten and exhausted. And some say the cross weighed 100 pounds.

Atlanta Area Women’s Club is pleased to have two new members. Janice Yancey and Dana Robison will be an asset to our club’s projects. Every February, our Atlanta Women’s Club entertains the Wesley House residents with a Valentine party. This year the entertainment was the Atlanta Methodist children’s choice who sang several songs. For some of the songs the children incorporated sign language. Each resident was given a Valetine gift. One club member, Cindy Woods, baked cakes for the refreshments. Each year club members receive such joy from the residents. In a very special finale, the children’s choir serenaded our President, Kathy O’Kelley, with “Happy Birthday” to celebrate her special day!
