Learning is SNOW much fun at J.K. Hileman Elementary. Students in the Think Lab discovered the science behind how snowflakes are formed. They also learned about microphotography and how Wilson “Snowflake” Bentley was the first person to use a special camera with a microscopic lens to capture the beauty of a snowflake zoomed in. Students then used the engineering design process to create as many realistic and unique snowflakes as they could using toothpicks and marshmallows. Photos by Phyllis Warren
