Cass County Deputies assess damage to a local woman’s Kia when the driver misjudged the curb at the Valero in Linden, due to the glare from the afternoon sun.Deputies called for the nearest tow, in Ore City. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, said deputies stuck with her for nearly an hour so she wouldn’t be alone waiting for a tow. She said deputies were adamant about helping get her vehicle out safely.“If it weren’t for their advice and intervention, I’d have probably just let any random person tie a rope up to my car and it possibly causing untold damage to the front end,” she said.“I’m so thankful for local law enforcement, putting their lives on the line every day to serve and protect us... One evening they might be helping me get a tow; But another they may be sent out on a dangerous call, have a shootout,or car chase. Each day they put on that uniform and kiss their family goodbye, without a clue about what might lie in store for them. That’s what makes them heroes,” she added.
