Women to be honored at luncheon
The 2022 Women’s Luncheon is April 27th. This Professional Women’s Luncheon occurs on Administrative Assistant’s day and the event sets a time apart to just honor women. This is our grand gesture to the ladies in our community.
Wild Flower Trails this weekend
This weekend April 22 and 23, will kick off the Wild Flower Trails festivities. This year there will be a fair for the kiddos and a new battle of the bands.
Hawkins indicted for murder of Atlanta man
A Texarkana man, DaKyree Lamont Hawkins, 26, aka Rico Suave has been indicted for murder for the shooting death of Vadarious LaKeith Cooper on New Year’s Eve. Hawkins insisted that he had not been to the area since Christmas, however several witnesses put him at the scene. A source told the Journal-Sun that an argument ensued over drugs, which seemed to be confirmed when officers located several baggies of marijuana in various amounts were found. Investigator Cody L. Sartor noted that based on the evidence there was good reason to believe that Hawkins had indeed discharged the firearm.
Amendments on May 7th Ballot
In addition to municipal candidates on the May 7th ballot, there will be two Amendments. It is very important that voters get out and vote for these Amendments that will be a benefit to those people with over 65 or disabled exemptions.
