Kimmel leaves Linden EDC

It has been said that when one door closes, another one opens. For Arthur Kimmel, that door was at the Linden Economic Development Corporation. Starting in October of 2019, Kimmel began as the Executive Assistant at the LEDC with dreams of helping grow Linden.

Just in time for the reopening of the Linden Public Library, Mark Epperson Chapter United States Daughters of 1812 donated a flagpole to the library. City Administrator Bob Swisher provided the American Flag, and Library Director Denise Haas obtained the library flag. In keeping with Flag protocol, the pole is illuminated at night.

Food drive a big success

The food was fresh and ready to be handed out to those in need on Saturday, July 11 in the parking lot of the old Milstep building located at 300 S. Main St. The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box program provided a truckload full of fresh produce and dry goods, boxed and ready to be handed out. Flo Stevenson, President of the Fairview Reunion Corporation and primary event organizer said, “This event would not have been possible without the support of volunteers from CSNT, Fairview, Linden Together, City of Linden, Linden United, LEDC, USDA, and others. Recipients were from all over the county.”
