This year Texarkana College is giving away a new Dean’s Scholarship. Recipients are selected from area high school seniors who are in the top of their class.
Laynee Robinson was awarded the Veterans of Foreign Wars Outstanding Young Spokesperson of the Future Award for her entry in the VFW Essay Contest, she received the certificate and a check for $400.
The Queen City Alumni Association visited Queen City High School on Friday, May 14, to present six seniors with scholarships.
The following letter is written by Augustus C. Davis, Pike Co., Ala., son of Presley Davis and Salina Ludlow. He is writing to his sister, Amanda, who married Daniel Wood. They were living in Sulphur Township, Miller Co., Arkansas. The Frank mentioned in the letter was James Franklin Davis, a brother, who settled in this area by I860.
Abel Hurt is the newest member of the incredible 100 point Accelerated Reading Club at APS!! Abel is reading faster than he is losing teeth!!!!
