QC’s powerlifting team places second, girls fourth
Queen City’s boys’ powerlifting team placed second in the Winnsboro Boys Invitational Feb. 8.
The Bulldogs were behind Gilmer in points but finished ahead of Tyler Lee, Winnsboro, Redwater, Mt. Vernon, Pittsburg, Pleasant Grove and New Diana.
Ben Harris placed first in the 132-pound weight class with a total lift of 925 pounds, Colton Davis placed sixth in the 181 class with a total of 995 pounds, Daniel Keene placed second in the 220s with a total lift of 1,190 pounds, Dalton Howell placed first in the 242-pound class with a total of 1,250 pounds and Christian Little placed second in the 275 class with a total of 1,475 pounds.
T.J. Stagner turned in a total of 835 pounds in the 165s and Kody Nichols totaled 970 pounds in the 220s.
The Lady Bulldogs placed fourth behind some stiff competition from Gilmer, Winnsboro and Tyler Lee.
Angel Blalock placed 11th in her class with a total of 440 pounds, Erica Jones placed fifth in her class with a total of 545 pounds, Abby Watkins placed third with a total of 585 pounds lifted, Kailey Giles placed seventh with a total of 510 pounds, Macey Belote placed fourth with a total of 650 pounds and Alyssa Clements placed first with 755 pounds lifted.
Beatriz Martins also turned in a total of 365 pounds lifted.
The boys and girls will be back in action Feb. 15, in Redwater.
