L-K Varsity Cheerleaders compete at State UIL Competition for the first time

The varsity cheer squad traveled to Fort Worth convention center on Jan. 11 to compete in the 2A Division UIL State Competition. Preliminary rounds were scheduled for that morning. The varsity cheerleaders had the third highest score in the band dance routine and they qualified for finals that afternoon. The girls ended up in a two-way tie for 11th place. “We are extremely proud of our girls. This was our first year to compete at UIL spirit competition and look forward to making the top ten next year. They did an outstanding job. Thank you for all your support!” said Varsity Cheer Coach Kristina LeJuene.  Pictured from left to right: Gillian Dossey, Reagan Lee, Jessie Haley, Linzy Callaway, Haley Palmer, Siarra Johnson, Treasure Hines, Kendall Wells, Grace Broussard, Kayden Wells, and Karlee Bynum.
