Wanda Lee “Susie” Thomas Lummus
Wanda “Susie” Lummus, 79, of Texarkana, Texas, passed from this life to the next on January 10, 2021.
Susie was a homemaker and mother. She served for many years as song leader for Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Doddridge, AR. At various times she was also bookkeeper, secretary, a garment worker, waitress, and telephone operator.
She served the Lord and her family continuously and faithfully.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence William “C.W.” Thomas Jr. and her second husband, Vernon Lummus, both of Doddridge, AR.
She is survived by one brother: Jack Peek and wife, Wanda of Doddridge, AR; two sons: Anthony Wayne Thomas of Texarkana, TX; and Mark Steven Thomas of Hot Springs, AR; three grandsons: Andrew Taylor Thomas of Atlanta, TX; Christopher James Thomas of Atlanta, TX; and Brandon Lee Thomas of Texarkana, TX; two granddaughters: Rebecca Lee Thomas of Atlanta, TX; and Stephanie Nicole Douglass of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandsons: Cameron James Thomas of Atlanta, TX; and Jayce Brantley Thomas of Texarkana, TX.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Doddridge, AR with Gary O’Day officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of A.O. Smith Funeral Home of Stamps, AR.
