Nov. 14, 1942 – Aug. 21, 2020

Florence Gwendolyn Waller, 77, of Atlanta Texas, won her victory over cancer and went to be with the Lord August 21, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her husband and daughters. She was born November 14, 1942 in Atlanta Texas at Brooks Hospital. Gwen was a member of Cass Baptist Church. She was the church clerk, church pianist, Sunday School teacher and Vacation Bible School Director. She taught school for 35 years, mostly third grade, 32 of which were at Queen City ISD.

She lived to serve the Lord, always witnessing and presenting a true Christian example to everyone she met. She enjoyed reading the Bible, supporting Southern Baptist Convention Missions, packing shoe boxes for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, and reminiscing with family and friends.

She never went anywhere where she did not see a former student. This side of heaven we will never know how many lives she actually touched. She is proceeded in death by her parents, W.H. and Florence Lee; one sister, Mary Jo Wilbanks and son-in-law Daren York.

Gwen is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, George Waller; two daughters: Andrea York of Redwater Texas, Joanie Huckaby and husband Bill of Bloomburg Texas; seven grandchildren: Zachary Yeager, Josh York, Micah York, Kyle Huckaby and wife Amy, Gwendolyn Lavender and husband Derrick, Gracie Lee and husband Dylan, and Haley Huckaby; five great granddaughters and a host of family and friends.
