Doris Evelyn Shaver Haggard, age 89, of Atlanta, Texas, died Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Haggard was born February 25, 1930, in Maud, Texas, to Odie Shaver and Lillie Dodd Shaver. Doris was a member of Laws Chapel United Methodist Church, in Atlanta.
She was a homemaker and a gardener. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, George Haggard, in 2010; a grandson, Curtis Haggard; three sisters, Roxie Spencer, Audrey Stover, and Dona Stewart.
Surviving family members include one daughter and son-in-law, Babs and Phil McCoy of Atlanta, Texas; three sons, Mitchell and Vicki of Linden, Texas, Dale Haggard of Linden, Texas, Keith Haggard of Albuquerque, New Mexico; three granddaughters, Heather and Bryan Boyer of Scottsdale, Arizona, Tonya and Dane Embrey of San Antonio, and Lacey and Chad Solley of Atlanta; seven great-grandchildren; and special friend, Janet Adams.
Funeral services were at 11:00 am, Saturday, November 2, 2019 in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Rev. John Wilkey officiating.
Visitation was Saturday, November 2, 2019 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Hanner Funeral Service.
Interment was in Linden Cemetery, Linden, Texas.
