DOROTHY L. HILL

Dorothy L. Nichols Hill, 89, of Queen City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 19, 2018, in an Atlanta nursing home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1928, in Fouke, Ark., to Virgil and Clara Nichols. She was a homemaker and a member of Cass Baptist Church. She loved to crochet and garden, but her greatest joy was babysitting in her home, keeping between 75 – 100 children over the many years she worked. She also loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lloyd Hill; two brothers, Ray Dean Nichols and Bobby Wayne Nichols; and sister, Betty Lou Ganz.
She is survived by her children, Linda Fouse and husband Roger of Douglassville, Jerry Hill and wife Karen of Queen City, Judy Stiles and husband Vernon of Queen City, Kenneth Hill and wife Lori of Queen City, David Hill and wife Jeana of Queen City and Donna Easley and husband Randall of Queen City; sister-in-law, Katie Nichols; 17 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Hanner Funeral Service
Funeral services were at 10 a.m., Monday, May 21, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. George Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery in Doddridge, Ark., under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Ralph C. Rodgers Jr., 75, of Atlanta, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Atlanta.
He was born Jan. 2, 1943, in Hot Springs, Ark., to Ralph C. and Naomi Rodgers. He was a man who loved Jesus and walked with God. He was affectionately known as “Pops.” He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church in Queen City, a veteran and a man who loved his country, serving in the U. S. Air Force and eventually retiring from the Texas National Guard. He also worked at Pirelli Cable Company for 15 years and as a truck driver for the remainder of his work career. He enjoyed welding, tinkering in his friend’s shop, watching his grandkids play sports and attending both the Atlanta and Queen City football games.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Joe and Larry Rodgers.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sharon Kay Doss Rodgers of Queen City; son, Greg Rodgers and wife Paula of Columbus, Ohio; two daughters, Sheila Young and husband John of Atlanta and Michelle Poteete and husband Philip of Queen City; brother, Michael Rodgers and wife Martha of Hot Springs, Ark.; seven grandchildren, Lyndsey, Justin, Kieona, Cody, Jeremy, Greg and De’Jah; one great-grandchild, Genevieve; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Christian Fellowship Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Ben Aguirre officiating. Interment will follow at the Bethsaida “Y” Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

Roy “Rooster” Wayne Eason, 60, of Doddridge, Ark., passed from this life Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his residence surrounded by his loving children and devoted wife.
He was devoted to his family, a wonderful husband, daddy and “Papa.” He loved fishing. He was a long time employee of International Paper. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, J. B. Eason and Myrtis Capps Eason.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Joe Zylks Eason of Doddridge; son, Cole Eason and wife Megan of Kingwood; daughters, Ashley Eason of Doddridge and Hillary Eason-Weston and husband Jimmy of Doddridge; brothers, Bill Eason and wife Kathy of Atlanta, Mike Eason and wife Jennifer of N. C., and John Eason and wife Debbie of Atlanta; grandchildren, Anabelle Eason, Hudson Weston and Alex Eason; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at Queen City Funeral Home.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20, at Queen City Funeral Home with Bishop Vance Gaddy officiating. Interment followed at Enon Baptist Cemetery in Doddridge, Ark., under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home
