Viola Christine Sneed-Solsbery, 94, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Sunday, March 11, 2018, in a Texarkana hospital.
She was born April 13, 1923, in Antlers, Okla. She was retired from Palo Duro Village Retirement Home in Canyon, was a member of First Baptist Church in Canyon and was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star in Seminole. She enjoyed cooking and painting.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Sneed and Doug Solsbery; four sisters, Pauline Simmons, Mary Thurman, Cora Thayer and Ruby Petty; and a brother, George Petty.
She is survived by two sons, Tommy Sneed of Clovis, N.M., and Dwayne Sneed of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Sybil Ann Woods of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a number of great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 13, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Mark Hill officiating.
Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Bluffton Cemetery in Bluffton under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

James W. “J.W.” Thompson, 93, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 5, 2018, at his residence.
He was born, Nov. 30, 1924, in Bradley, Ark., to James and Ettie Thompson. He was raised by his mother, Grandpa Jackson and Uncle Earlton. He was retired from American Electric Power, a member of the Lion’s Club of Siloam Springs, Ark., and West Side Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was known for his inventions and working in his shop. He was affectionately known as “Granddaddy” to family and friends. He was a devoted family man and husband and always said his calling was a caregiver, which he was until the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Evelyn Henson Thompson; two brothers, Clinton and Arthur Thompson; two sisters, Rebecca Jones and Mary Thompson; daughter, Glenda Nell Thompson Broussard; and one great-great-grandson, Brian Elias May.
He is survived by his daughters, Rose Marie Thompson Oliphant and husband Joe of Uncertain and Brenda Joyce Thompson Ostroth and husband Andy of Newbury Park, Calif.; brother, James Arthur Thompson and wife Carol of Gilmer; nine grandchildren, Tracy Oliphant and partner Sharla Snider of Denton, Sandi Zbranek and husband Zack of Devers, Jodi Shafor and husband Mark of Fairfield, Ohio, Jami Oliphant May of Mesquite, Sunni Moseley and husband Terry of Bridge City, Tami Gardner and husband Keith of Parker, Colo., Cyndi Livingstone and husband Jason of Camarillo, Calif., Joseph Oliphant and wife Hannah of Granite Falls, N. C., and Jacci Weiss and husband Phil of Chula Vista, Calif.; 25 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 9, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Paul Cothren officiating.
Interment followed at the Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Reeder-Davis Chapel in Hughes Springs.

Michael Joseph Arnot, of Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2018.
Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11 at Queen City Funeral Home in Queen City. Interment followed under the direction of Queen City Funeral Home.
