LAVEDA CUNNINGHAM
Oct. 4, 1944 - June 11, 2017
Laveda S. “Vee” Cunningham, 72, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 11, 2017, in a Texarkana hospital surrounded by family.
She was born Oct. 4, 1944, in Atlanta, to Obin and Claudie Spraberry. She was retired from Guard-Line, was a founding member of Cross Creek Cowboy Church and the Anteeks Bible Study. She loved spending time sewing and quilting. 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Cunningham; her parents, Obin and Claudie Spraberry; two brothers, Don Spraberry and Roy Spraberry; and a sister, Flo Hayward.
She is survived by a son, Eric Cunningham and wife Shannon of Rodessa, La.; daughter, Penny Baker and husband James of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, Johnny Spraberry of Atlanta and Toby Spraberry of Atlanta; two sisters, Elaine Foster of Atlanta and Sherry Browning of Texarkana; five grandchildren, Samantha Lummus, Dusty Cole, Sarah Cunningham, Jamie Baker and Ashlee Baker; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Baker, Jilliann Baker, Dub Lummus, Dodge Lummus, Walker Allen and Lane Hughes; and a number of other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Todd Elliott and Bro. Ronnie Treadway officiating. Interment will be in Enon Cemetery in Miller County, Ark., under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

KENNETH M. THOMPSON
Dec. 2, 1942 - June 11, 2017
Kenneth M. Thompson, 74, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 11, 2017, in an Atlanta nursing home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1942, in Marshall, to Earnest M. and Flora J. Thompson. He was a parts salesman for many years and for the past eight years, he was a dispatcher for Cole Distributing Co. He was a member of the Texas National Guard for six years. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing with family and friends. He was an active member of the Queen City Jeep Club in his younger days and enjoyed spending time with his family and all his family adventures.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Thompson of Atlanta; daughters, Dewanna Sanders and husband Randy of Bloomburg and Deneshia Brodbeck and husband Todd of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Brittany Aucoin and husband Greg, Kristin Robinson and husband Austin, Emily, Erin and Blake Brodbeck; two great-grandchildren, Carter Aucoin and Laramie Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Paul Murdock officiating. Interment will be at Andrews Cemetery in Karnack under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service

TROY V. L. PATE SR.
May 2, 1932 - June 3, 2017
Troy Pate, 85, of Atlanta, went to be with the Lord Saturday, June 3, 2017, in a Texarkana hospital.
He was born, May 2, 1932, in Cass County, to Dave and Lillie Mae Pate. He was a member of the Carpenters Union, Piney Grove Baptist Church and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a landlord and enjoyed gardening, fishing, watching and listening to old western movies and songs.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda June Pate; and a brother, Henry O. Pate.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Pate of Atlanta; a son, Troy V. L. Pate Jr. and wife Chris Ann of Arlington; two daughters, Vicki Lyn Box and husband Ricky of Pearland and Kristal Diane Pate of Arlington; two brothers, Raymond Pate of Texarkana and Louis D. Pate of Atlanta; a sister, Ethel Powell of Atlanta; two grandchildren, Dallas Wayne Box and David William Pate; stepson, Lamar J. Little of Tomball; step-daughter, Lynn R. Thomas of Atlanta; and a number of nephews, nieces and other relatives.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 9, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 10, in the Hanner Funeral Chapel with Bro. Gene Parker officiating.
Interment followed at the Center Grove Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

MAURICE BENNY TABLER
Feb. 18, 1936 - May 31, 2017
Maurice Benny Tabler, 81, of Board Camp, Ark., died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at his residence.
He was born Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1936, in Atlanta, to Rupert and Beatrice Teel Tabler.
He proudly served in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged.  Helping and serving others gave him so much enjoyment and was very important to him his entire life. He loved his grandkids and he enjoyed cars. Maurice was a loving companion, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather and a great friend and will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Sue Tabler; and one brother, Denzel Tabler.
He is survived by his one son, Russell Tabler of Carrollton; two daughters, Robin Seavers of Texarkana, Ark., and Roxanne Boyd of Lamar, Ark.; two step-sons, Robert Harp of Texas and Scott Harp of Orlando, Fla.; companion, Barbara Hedges; two sisters, Lavelle Meador of Texarkana and Doris Voss of Irving; six grandchildren, Josh Stinson, Hannah Topor, Lana Thurman, Dale Stewart, Kenneth Boyd and Miranda Boyd; two step-grandchildren, Blair Harp and Abbie Harp of Hewitt; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Ark. with Brother Lynn Chiles officiating.  Cremation services were under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home.

Emily Baird, 86, of Daingerfield, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 10, at Daingerfield Church of Christ. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.
