Nov. 21, 1933 - June 12, 2017
Roger Henry Bedier, 83, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away Monday, June 12, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born Nov. 21, 1933, in Rochester, N. Y., to Henry and Ida Seitz Bedier. He graduated from Aquinas Institute in Rochester in 1951. He earned a B. S. ChE. from the University of Detroit in 1958, and a M. B. A. from the University of Chicago in 1964.
His professional career spanned 50 years, beginning as a chemical engineer in the Missile Division of Chrysler Corporation and later included consulting, corporate planning and investor relations. He had more than 25 years experience as Executive Director of Investor Relations for Fortune 500 companies, including Viad, Dial and Greyhound Corporation. He traveled extensively for business throughout the United States, Europe and Asia and was responsible for facilitating the listing of corporations on both the Tokyo and London Stock Exchanges.
He was elected to the Board of Directors of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and served as President of NIRI’s Arizona Chapter. He received national recognition in the Investor Relations field as a speaker at numerous national conferences of IR professionals.
He had a deep appreciation for nature and was an avid golfer and snow skier. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge, particularly for learning new languages. He and his wife, Susan, loved to travel throughout North and South America, the Caribbean and Western Europe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Anne Bedier Davis; brother-in-law, Richard Davis; and niece, Maureen Davis Seitz.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Stephens Bedier; his four children, John Bedier of Austin, Lynne Mullinix and husband Matt of Wildwood, Mo., Amy Kairys of Chapel Hill, N. C., and Jennifer Bedier and husband Tobias Freebourn of Tucson, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Sarah, William and Zachary Mullinix, Benjamin and Julia Kairys and Lucienne and Elizabeth Freebourn; his beloved sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and a large, loving extended family.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to family and friends for their supportive love, encouragement and prayers.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 8, at Hanner Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service.

L. Ray McKinney, 85, of Hughes Springs, died Sunday, June, 25, 2017.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, at First Baptist Church in Hughes Springs. Interment followed at Hughes Springs Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.
