Joyce Ann Futch Wommack, 73, of Atlanta, went to be with her Savior Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, in a Tyler hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family the entire time.
She was born July 4, 1944, in Dallas, to Thomas Earl and Adeline Rhea Futch, but lived much of her early life in Irving. She graduated from North Texas State University (NTSU) in Denton, and in July of 1966, she married her best friend and love, David Alton Wommack Jr. of Atlanta, whom she had met at NTSU. Her lifetime was spent teaching. She taught home economics, English and computer literacy to students in Mesquite, Atlanta and Queen City for 36 years until her retirement in 2004. She was a member of the First Baptist Church (FBC) of Atlanta for nearly 50 years. At FBC Atlanta, she spent more than 40 of those years teaching first grade Sunday school, but later she taught the Lydia Sunday School Class, her dear friends and sisters in faith.
She was an excellent homemaker and provider for her family, a doting grandmother, a beloved Sunday school teacher and a diligent servant of her church family. She also loved to travel and together with David they spent as much time as possible each summer vacationing to mountainous destinations in one part of the United States or another.
While faithfully following him on his hobbies in gem and mineral hunting, she took as many pictures of the mountains, aspens, wildlife, wildflowers, old barns and mountainside mines as she could. She loved many different kinds of arts and crafts, traveling with her husband, gospel music, college basketball, coffee mugs, her husband and family, and most of all her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, David.
She is survived by her two sons, David and wife Melinda of Atlanta and Thomas James “T.J.” and wife Stacy of Grapevine; her brother, Thomas Futch and wife Sheree of Tucson, Ariz.; sister, Carolyn Cooper of Arlington; seven grandchildren, David and wife Alicia, Matthew, Sarah, Andrew, Drew and wife Amy , Blake, and Luke; four great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and dear friends.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15, at First Baptist Church in Atlanta under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Pastor James Williams officiating.
 
TAYLOR SCHNECKLOTH
Oct. 23, 1997 - Dec. 11, 2017
Taylor Leigh Schneckloth, 20, of DeBerry, went to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, in a Shreveport, La., hospital.
She was born Oct. 23, 1997, in Omaha, Neb., to Steven and Anna Turner. She was a graduate of Elysian Fields High School, where she played percussion in the band. She loved spending time on Snapchat and playing the xylophone.
She was preceded in death by her two grandfathers, Charles Sawders and Cecil Turner.
She is survived by her parents, Steven Turner of DeBerry and Anna Turner of Fouke, Ark.; brother, Jeff Turner of DeBerry; sister, Heather Gakue of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and grandmother, Cathy Sawders of Gladewater.
Visitation was from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Hanner Funeral Service.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 19, at Olive Branch Cemetery under the direction of Hanner Funeral Service with Bro. Walter Burnett officiating.

James Wayne Hammonds, 68, of Naples, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.

Rev. Robert L. Anderson, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. Interment followed at Mt. Pilgrim Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home of Hughes Springs.
