Each year the Trammel’s Trace Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution solicits nominations from Cass County teachers in order to choose students who best exemplify characteristics of leadership, dependability, and patriotism.
Hughes Springs Volunteer Fire Department replaced a 1985 tanker with an excess military Stewart Stevenson. Upon accepting the truck, the department had to meet certain obligations within 180 days. These obligations included painting it a nonmilitary color and converting it into an emergency response vehicle able to perform an emergency response function.
The Atlanta Downtown Merchants Association will be setting up a raffle at the Steven Smith Car Show this evening, June 11. Tickets are $20 each. There will be cash prizes. Two winners will receive $500 and one winner will receive $1,000.
County Judge Becky Wilbanks oversaw the June 8 regular session of the Cass County Commissioner’s Court at 8:30 a.m. in Linden. Commissioners Brett Fitts, Danny Joe Shaddix, Paul Cothren and Darrel Godwin were present for the meeting as well as County Clerk Amy Varnell and County Auditor Jim Loomis.
Focused Care at Linden announced today that the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency responsible for rating the quality of care provided by the nation’s skilled nursing facilities, awarded the long term care community a 5-star rating for Quality Measures – the category that focuses on direct resident care. Focused Care at Linden earned a 5-star for resident care in 2019 – during the last rating period.
