As part of his chronicling of early Atlanta, T.R.A. Willis stirred up a hornets’ nest with his article entitled, “The Razing of Lanark and the Founding of Queen City vs. Atlanta.” This story details the premise on which Queen City was founded to take business away from the Atlanta merchants. Printing this article resulted in multiple apologies being written by both Willis and Journal publisher John Fletcher.
If you have been keeping up on the Cass County Citizens Journal-Sun social media pages, you will have no ticed that the paper is beginning to post videos under the title of Journal Sun Media. A few months ago, the Journal Sun began to put together a studio with the intention of creating fresh content that will appear on our social media pages, and website. Before accepting the City of Linden City Administrator position in June of 2021, it was rapidly evident we had major street problems. Mayor Reynolds and City Councilors were adamant the new administration generate a plan to fix our street infrastructure. City staff and our consulting engineer began the process of an alyzing our street infrastructure and developing a game plan rapidly.
Dozens of intersections in Northeast Texas will have improvements made to their traffic control systems later this year, according to plans approved in April by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
