I have to say, for all the places I’ve lived, I especially enjoy the weather here in Northeast Texas. Yes, it can get hot and almost unbearably humid at times, and yes it can change on a dime before you can have a chance to equip yourself with an umbrella or a winter coat, but at least it never stays one way for very long.

Daughters members attend council

Three members of Mark Epperson Chapter United States Daughters of 1812 attended the 2020 Texas State Council in Temple recently. Chapter Registrar Nancy Belford, Librarian Tammie Blackburn, and President Kay Stephens were voting delegates. At the annual meeting, Tammie Blackburn was elected Texas State Curator and Kay Stephens was elected Texas State Librarian. Honorary Texas State President and current Librarian National Ora Jane Johnson, whose hometown is Atlanta, Texas, served as Texas State Parliamentarian. Mark Epperson Chapter was presented numerous certificates of award, including first place in publicity.
