County votes in midterm elections

Tuesday, November 8, people around the country went to the polls to vote their conscience. Republicans expected a better turnout nationally; what had high expectations for the party in late October turned out to be a lackluster showing. At the time that this article was written, the democrats held on to the Senate, and there is a toss-up in the house. Statewide, in Texas, it fared much better for the republicans. They held on to every major seat including the Governor’s office. Locally, there were only a few things that were voted on including a new County Sales tax for certain parts of the county, and our new United States Representative for District No. 1. Linden voted for District Trustees.
