Civic leaders with the Cass County Consortium met with SWEPCO recently in Queen City and came away with a unified opinion.
Flowers are at the center of Cass County. Even in the latest 100-degree heat, drivers can pull over and find a cool bouquet of flowers at the Texas Department of Transportation’s U. S. Highway 59 Safety Rest Area between Linden and Atlanta.
The N.E.Texas Amateur Radio Group worked hand in hand with the library to offer two classes on certifications: Introduction to Amateur Radio and General Upgrade Class. There were 23 graduates that received their technical license, General Upgrade Licence, or Both. A sinkhole formed on North Louise Street last Tuesday causing a large portion of the road to be blocked off to through traffic.According to City Manager Danica Porter. The initial hold observed was not just in one location but went down through a large portion of the street. Danica explained that the hole was caused by an underground creek and wear and tear on the road. Even though the whole was filled in,there are plans to meet with the Atlanta City Council to discuss a plan and funding to create a more permanent solution to the problem.Thursday the road was back open.
