This is the Cass County Genealogical Society’s “Annual Summer Indoor Picnic”, (no ants and it will be cool). There will be a Silent Auction with lots of great books, DVDs and a slew of other neat items. Feel free to bring items for the Auction.
In 1878, just a year after Queen City, Texas was founded, Confederate veteran William Franklin Mathews built a Victorian home at 205 Miller Street, just a couple of blocks from the railroad tracks. Previously a farmer, the Georgia-born Mathews was a successful merchant for many years in the new town.
Bloomburg’s softball team beat Chireno 5-3 in the Regional Final last Saturday and advanced to the state tournament.
