Constitution Week

Constitution Week

September 17th marked the two hundred and thirty fourth anniversary of the drafting of the Constitution of the United States of America by the Constitutional Convention. Constitution week is the commemoration of America’s most important document. It is celebrated annually during the week of September 17-23. The United States Constitution stands as a testament to the tenacity of Americans throughout history to maintain their liberties, freedoms, and inalienable rights. This celebration of the Constitution was started by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Some of our local DAR Chapter officers joined me this week as I signed a proclamation designating September 17-23 Constitution week in the City of Atlanta. Chapters of local DAR and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) are made up of descendants of Patriots who served in the Revolutionary War. If you are interested in joining a local chapter of DAR or SAR, please get in touch with Traci Jones at tracibob@swat.coop or Dennis Beckham at dennis.beckham@outlook.com respectively. Travis Ransom is pictured with Louella Vernon, Traci Jones, and Carolyn Addington.
