Earlier this week Texas Conservation Alliance sent a press release informing people that there was a hearing that stopped the build of a potential lake that like this area’s situation would have flooded their area to introduce a large body of water. The TCA has been at the forefront of informing the greater community of Northeast Texas about the dangers of the Marvin Nichols Project.

Abbott announces “Film Friendly Texas” designation for Atlanta

Governor Greg Abbott today announced on December 14, that the City of Atlanta, Texas, “having completed the multi-step training and certification process, has been designated as a Film Friendly Texas Certified Community by the Texas Film Commission.” In 2022, the Atlanta Tourism Committee, with support from the City of Atlanta, began the certification process to designate Atlanta a Film Friendly Certified Community. The Film Friendly Texas program is a certification and marketing initiative administered by the Texas Film Commission, under the Governor’s Office. The goal of the program is to pair interested Texas suburban and rural communities with media industry professionals to help facilitate mutually beneficial partnerships.
