Heavy storms roll through Cass County
According to the local Weather Watcher, TXATLBL1, “Storms moved through the area on Friday afternoon and again on Sunday afternoon. As of right now, the National Weather Service says all damage during both events is only straight-line winds. Right now, there are no confirmed touchdowns or tornadoes. Surveys are still ongoing as we speak. I will post on my Facebook page their findings for official publication. I only ended up with 0.84” of rainfall for both events at my location. There were 20,000+ electric customers without power across the area Friday night. And last night’s storm was even higher. At one point Swepco was showing 58,000+ customers without power from our area over into Louisiana.” Brian Loper says that he believes that the storms aren’t over and that the community should expect strong weather Monday.
