Physics meets road engineering

In collaboration with the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), TxDot generously donated materials to support an engaging set of physics-based classroom activities at Queen City High School. Throughout May, Honors Physics students are applying key physics concepts through hands-on projects centered around Road Design and Construction, Traffic Engineering and Safety, and Traffic Technology.

FREE CURBSIDE BULK WASTE COLLECTION

Atlanta City Manager Danica Porter said that free bulk waste curbside collection is scheduled in Atlanta from May 19th through May 23rd. “Bulk waste will be collected at the same time as our customer’s polycart is serviced, so make sure everything’s out curbside before the trash trucks arrive”, Danica said. She added, “We have a limit of 3 cubic yards of bulk waste this year, which is about the size of a pickup bed.”
