Here’s a hard mystery for you. It’s a stone in a very familiar place in Cass County (in fact, the center of the county). Almost everyone knows about it and avoids it. After all, it is not going anywhere. But your mystery for the week is to answer just what is this stone for, what does it indicate and why. Just think, if some visitor to the county runs into this stone accidentally and if you are nearby, you’ll be able to sympathize and tell the person what it’s all about. That’s worth something. It was announced through the Cass County Connect newsletter that Cass County Sheriff Larry Rowe was recently appointed to serve on the statewide board for the Sheriff’s Association of Texas. Sheriff Rowe was sworn into office at the 146th Annual Conference of the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas in Fort Worth.
