Haunted house opens Saturday

Proceeds for Project Graduation

Queen City students, youth and parents have resurrected their annual haunted house with all proceeds going towards Project Graduation.
The event begins Saturday, Oct. 28 and is being coordinated by Mrs. Jackie Yates again this year.
Project Graduation is an event set up on graduation night in which the young adults are locked in together from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., and several prizes are handed out.
In the past the prizes included: lap tops, microwaves and cash money in which graduates can take to college with them.
One incentive for staying all night is each graduate not only gets to hang out with their classmates for possibly the last time, but each of them will walk away with $150 or more.
“I enjoy doing this with and for the kids because it keeps them safe in a drug-free environment the night they graduate,” Yates continued. “It also lets them make memories because there is a chance they may never see some of those classmates again at reunions or in general.”
The haunted house it will be open nightly from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. from Oct. 28 to Oct. 31.
The spine-chilling building is located beside Luigi’s restaurant in Atlanta.
