Hatley crowned runner-up in Texas Tech pageant
Marshay Hatley of Douglassville, Texas was crowned first runner up and awarded up at the Hidden Queens Miss Black Texas Tech University Scholarship Pageant in Nov.
Hatley, who graduated from Atlanta High School in 2016, is currently a sophomore at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas where she is studying Biological Science with a minor in Nutritional Science.
Marshay is the daughter of Gregory and Deborah Hatley of Douglassville, Texas.
Hatley has been on the Presidents List for the past two years while maintaining a 4.0 GPA.
She also serves as an ambassador for Texas Tech College of Arts and Science and mentors freshman students who have majors closely related to hers and help them integrate into college life.
Hatley is takes part in a number of organizations including Texas Techs Club Volleyball Team, The Bernard Harris Pre-Medical Society of Collegiate Scholars, and Raiders Helping Hands.
After completing her Bachelors of Science degree Hatley wants to attend medical school to become a Interventional Cardiologist and open her own practice.
