AISD takes part in ‘Stop the Bleed’
Atlanta Independent School District (AISD) recently participated in the National Stop the Bleed Initiative.
Launched in October 2015, Stop the Bleed is a national awareness campaign intended to cultivate grassroots efforts that encourage bystanders to become trained, equipped and empowered to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives. Atlanta’s local Stop the Bleed team is comprised of Dr. Kristi Henderson, Nicole Fant (trauma/stroke/chest pain manager at Christus-Atlanta), and Ricky Draper, assistant fire chief. The local team placed emergency cabinets at Atlanta Middle School and Atlanta High School with supplies that will help stop severe bleeding. The middle school and high school staffs were trained by Draper and Fant. School district officials called it “another layer of student safety” at AMS and AHS.
