Edwards speaks at meeting

The Journal-Sun’s own Raydeen Edwards gave a very informative speech to the Cass County Genealogical Society last week. His program was titled “Forty Acres and a Mule”. Forty Acres and a Mule refers to a failed promise of land redistribution to formerly enslaved people after the Civil War. McLeod ISD earns highest rating

McLeod Independent School District officials announced that the district received a rating of “A” for “Superior Achievement” under Texas’ School FIRST financial accountability rating system. The “Superior Achievement” rating is the state’s highest, demonstrating the quality of McLeod ISD’s financial management and reporting system.
