Skipper Steely of Paris, TX, spoke to the Cass County Genealogical Society Oct. 9, on the settlement of the Red River Valley area and especially Miller County. His book on this subject is “Six Months from Tennessee.”
Every fall Atlanta gets inundated with pumpkins. From store front to front yard, the pumpkins appear. They are welcome.
The cemetery statue is an example of Woodmen of the World (WOW), a fellowship lodge which provided a patriotic and community service along with its financial security instruments. That is, it was a life insurance society founded in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1890.
