Most Texans would find it strange that someone would choose a career that involves working on a snow-covered mountaintop, but that is exactly what Atlanta native Sonya Garrison Greider is doing. And in February she will experience the most exciting opportunity of her career.
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Atlanta, we will be offering historical stories and photos each week throughout 2022. These articles were researched using various sources in the Atlanta Public Library and old copies of the newspaper. This fourth installment tells about the first churches organized in the young town.
