Rowdy raises funds for children
The world at large can seem, at the moment, a very large, dark, and scary. However, there is always a light in that darkness.
There are always those who shine brighter to help guide in the dark. Showing the world what kindness and compassion truly is.
One Linden resident uses his birthday to shine brightest for the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Rowdy Haley truly is a special young man. For the past five years he has held a fundraiser for his birthday. Last year he raised money for Shriner’s Hospital, as well as the year before, and was even invited to tour the hospital thanks to his selfless philanthropic endeavors. But, what really makes Haley stand out and shine so extra bright is that he is only a mere nine, going on 10, years old.
This year, Haley hosted a chili dog sale. For $10, one could purchase a chili dog with all the fixings including homemade chili, chips, and a drink, all for $10 with all proceeds going to St. Jude. Haley’s goal for this year was $1650, and while he didn’t quite make his goal, he does plan to have an other fundraiser later in the year.
Haley’s giving spirit, his caring nature, all are what the world needs right now. A child helping children. A light in the darkness showing how to be selfless and benevolent.
Haley is the son of Brandy and Justin Haley whose hearts are surely overflowing with love and pride of such a fine young man.
