Pastor Sue’s PEARLS FROM ABOVE
Luke 18:1, “And He (Jesus) spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint (lose heart).”
1 Timothy 2:1, “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications (requests), prayers (communicating with God), intercessions (praying on behalf of others) and giving of thanks (gratitude for answered prayers) be made for all men.”
1 Timothy 2:3, “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.’
I see signs saying “PRAY FOR AMERICA” and I wonder why saints have to be reminded to pray!
Prayer vigils take place after tragedies, bombings, school shootings, tornadoes, floods, etc…
Why is prayer offered up after and not so much before? If the Church would get back to the altar, and pray as God commanded, maybe some tragedies would not happen.
For God will raise up the banner when the enemy comes in like a flood. Intercessory prayer will hold back judgements and move God on our behalf.
But churches have taken out altars, cut out prayer meetings because members won’t show up. We show up for dinners, concerts, anniversaries, but Lord forbid we go to prayer meeting.
Prayer is the lifeline to God! Jesus said “watch and pray that you enter not into temptation (snare of satan).
The Church has let down her standards. Saints are led to believe all acknowledgement of God outside of the church house is forbidden. When did the Church decide it was okay to let man dictate to us what is acceptable?
No praying at school, graduations, courthouses and the list goes on.
Daniel didn’t care what the secular world said, he prayed three times a day even when the king declared it “against the law” for thirty days.
When is the Church going to stand up and take her rightful place as God’s voice and declare mans laws are not Gods laws and man has no right to change what God has commanded?!
Now is not the time to let down, but to stand firm for God and His word! The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
The prayer of faith shall save the sick. Pray one for another. God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Pray without ceasing. All these are in God’s Word.
I invite you to worship with us at Pearl of Great Price Tabernacle where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is preached! God bless.
