Carla’s Flowers celebrates 25 years

Walking into Carla’s Flowers & Gifts, one can close their eyes and almost be carried away to another place. The scent of fresh flowers mingles with the lush smells of decadently scented candles and beads warmed to perfection.

From unique cooking items to inspire the inner chef to clothing and jewelry to dress it up for date night and accessories for the home, Carla’s has it all and then some.

Carla Surratt, owner of Carla’s Flowers & Gifts also provides fresh flower arrangements for every occasion from somber to celebratory.

While Surratt spends most of her time in her shop making flower arrangements for those celebrating the life or love of someone special, on Friday, July 24 she celebrated something very special.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of her business. In honor of that, she hosted a small celebration at her shop that has become a staple of the community of Linden.

She offered drinks to quell shoppers’ thirst from the heat of the day and a variety of cookies in cute little packages, one of which was adorned with a quarter--a cute little nod to her 25 years in business.

Guests were also encouraged to sign a photo frame. Social distancing was encouraged and hugs and handshakes were exchanged for warm smiles, delighted greetings and congratulations, and of course, elbow bumps.

These are unprecedented times that certainly show in the new ways of celebrations and greetings.

However, for Surratt, this was surely a celebration she will look back on in fond memory as those in the community came to celebrate with her and share in her joy and success and wish her another 25 years of success.
