Rotary Reflections 2021

Rotary Reflections 2021

This month we need to make a huge SHOUT OUT to so many people who supported our recent scholarship drive. Atlanta Area Rotary on its own does not have the thousands of dollars to give away to graduating seniors. But, living here in Atlanta, we have a HUGE support system. Thank you to each and every business and individuals who gave us money for this important program. I’ve proudly said that area seniors have received almost $200,000 because of our Rotary Scholarship program since 2004. Terry Foster will enjoy the water fun at Great Wolf Lodge by winning our grand prize. Sherry Robertson will be cooking up a storm with her new griddle donated by Price’s Hardware. Tina Hill plans to lavish her family with Christmas shopping at Bass Pro Shop, thanks to SRK Ranch. Tami Head will enjoy dining at Luigi’s with her gift card from Luigi’s. And Ricky Coats will enjoy those donated (2) boxes of shotgun shells. Thank you to those donors also.

Pet Talk

Rescued animals often come from difficult backgrounds of abuse, neglect, or both, and as a result sometimes exhibit erratic behaviors in their new homes. These behaviors can come as a surprise to pet owners and can leave the animal’s adopted family feeling ill-equipped and unprepared.

My Life As I Remember It ( Part One)

My Life As I Remember It ( Part One)

The first thing that I (Sarah Elizabeth Rosser known as “Sadye Bess”) can remember, I think I was about three years old; I had made my first visit to Grandmother’s alone (Mary Ann Zilphia Rosser Lewis). There were three maiden aunts that thought they knew all about bringing up other people’s children. My family of seven brothers and sisters evidently missed me, for they were lined up on the front walk, when they brought me home, each holding out their arms to see which I would go to first. Being the little stubborn one, I probably didn’t go to any of them.
