I live in a small town of 5,500 people. I have watched covid cases rise and fall since Jan 2020. But today was my family’s day to get covid. After homeschooling my kids while going to college online at A&M Texarkana all throughout 2020 and 2021. The small town of Atlanta did so great the first 1st year of covid. However, 2021 was a different story. People stop caring about covid. Even though the hospital asks people to mask up and vaccinate. Or even stay at home. Atlanta continued to have events and gather without masks.

Rotary Reflections 2021

As life seems to run faster and faster these days, that reminds me to encourage you all to join us in the Rotary “Run for the Blue” on September 11, 7 a.m. to help buy equipment for our Atlanta Police Department. You can go to “Runsignup” to register or stop at Price’s Hardware and get an application from Curt Bates. In honor of our winners, local charities will receive a small check from Rotary…so everyone wins!

He represented Texas in Congress through some of the most difficult times the nation had faced. Through his work in Congress, Patman left an indelible mark on East Texas and the nation.
