TEXAS HISTORY MINUTE

Sometimes the men dismissed for their failures early in life can become the greatest successes. The story of R. L. Thornton is the story of a man raised in poverty and with barely an eighth grade education became synonymous with the success of Dallas in the 1950s.

God, who is rich in mercy

God, who is rich in mercy

Ephesians 2:1; And you has he (God) quickened (made alive), who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2. Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course (ways) of this world, according to the prince (ruler) of the power of the air, the spirit (of the prince) that now works in the children of disobedience (disobedient to the will of God that all should come to repentance). 3. Among whom also we all had our conversation (conduct) in times past in the lusts (desires) of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. 4. But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5. Even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) 6. And has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
