57 years on the Square

57 years on the Square

Curtis Hunt of Linden has been cutting hair on the Linden square, in the same building, since 1963. In 57 years he has only taken one day off. To learn more about Curtis, see the next issue of Crossroads magazine, on stands in January. Photo by Kate Stow

Linden is doing well! Our city is moving forward into the holiday season and looking forward to great things. Our project to replace Koffman Street Bridge and Centerhill Culvert should start work in January. We will be creating a pond to help with flash flood retention and cleaning up the ditch and rainwater flow at the bottom of the park. We will also have the money to revitalize the amphitheater on the side of the hill. We would love33 to get more groups using the snack bar and amphitheater area after we get it done.

I have to say, it’s hard to beat the weather in Northeast Texas. In the dead of summer, you might catch me complaining about how hot and humid it can get, but nothing beats being able to go for a jog in mid-November while wearing shorts. In many ways, we are blessed.
