Rotary Reflections 2020

Our Atlanta Area Rotary Club is having a “grand adventure” serving our area youth! We could bust every button on our shirts…you see, we are proud of the fact that we have given away $182,000 in scholarships to area high school seniors since May 2004 to date. That’s a lot of money and I know our students were glad to receive it. But we can only do this with the community’s help. Our Cass County residents and businesses have been very generous to support our scholarship fund-raising opportunities. And we say a rousing “THANKS Y’ALL!”

Council meeting votes construction

The Linden City Council held its regular monthly meeting on Monday, Nov. 9 at the Senior Center. Of note on the agenda was the design proposal of the Milstep project. Starting with phase 1 which is the parking lot and food truck parking area, Allie Anderson presented the council members with final designs and asked them to vote on approval of the design so that they may be able to move forward to phase 2 which is acquiring bids on construction of the area. The council voted unanimously to approve the design.

5th and 6th grade GT students participated in a Path to Plate project presented by Jessica Rymel, Cass County Extension Agent. During the project, students researched the path several of our food products take to get to our plate. Students worked in teams to research the path for beef, wheat, and tomato sauce. After organizing their research into a Google Slides presentation, students shared the information with the class. Then they cooked the food they researched and combined the three to make a delicious spaghetti dinner.

Fishing America

Fishing America

Due to a guide losing his motor and cancelling, I missed getting to fish in Utah in April of 2018 while touring the southern part of the state with my wife. But we did take a boat with a group for a 3-hour tour of the beautiful Lake Powell.
