Atlanta’s varsity volleyball team beat Hooks in four games Oct. 2.

The Lady Rabbs dominated the Lady Hornets in both set one and two by identical scores of 25-10.

Hooks won set three 25-22 but Atlanta sealed the match with a 25-22 of its own in set four.

Kaylon Partain had 18 points, Destinee Wells posted 17, Caitlin Morris added 15 points, Kym Sheppard recorded 12 kills and Tianna Lawson had 16 kills and nine blocks.

The Lady Rabbs faced a scrappy Paul Pewitt team Oct. 6.

Pewitt won a hot first set 27-25 but the Lady Rabbs swept the next three by scores of, 27-25, 25-15, 25-17, to win the match.

Caitlin Morris finished the contest with 21 points, Jennifer Easter had 11, Kaylon Partain had nine with three aces, Callie Dyer had five with 31 assists, Tianna Lawson posted 18 kills and six blocks, Kym Sheppard had seven kills and Destinee Wells had four points.

Atlanta battled county rival Queen City Oct. 9, and swept the Lady Bulldogs in three sets by scores of, 26-24, 25-17, 25-11.

Cara Taylor had 10 points for the Lady Rabbs, Destinee Wells, Tianna Lawson and Kaylon Partain each posted eight points and Caitlin Morris had five.

Queen City’s middle school volleyball program battled rival Atlanta Oct. 7.

The seventh grade A team lost by scores of 25-20, 25-14. Makenna Hamilton led with eight service points and both Dori Sasser and Aubrey Pattillo added five each.

The seventh grade B team split, losing the first set 25-20 and posted a tie of 9-9 in the second set. Elizabeth Bickham led QC with five service points and Isabella Sullivan and Dazya Jackson both added three.

Queen City’s eighth grade A team won 25-18, 25-10. Ruby McCasland led with 12 service points, four being aces and three kills. Keeli Mainer added 10 service points with six being aces.

The eighth grade B team lost 25-7, 24-14. Laynee Robertson led with four points and Alyssa Delgado added three.
