Atlanta beat Hooks last Friday in three sets 25-11, 25-17, 25-15.
Destinee Wells had 10 digs; Kaylon Partain added 16 digs; Alley Jefferson posted seven points and two digs, AnneMarie Hanner recorded five points and five assists; Rylie Pattillo had 12 points and 16 assists; Cara Taylor added 24 points and two aces; Sabriiyah Young had four kills and four blocks; Kym Sheppard published 15 kills and 12 blocks; Kinlee Hamilton had two digs, three kills and one block and Keymya Smith had two kills and two blocks.
Head Coach Quen Banks had this to say after the Lady Rabbs finished the first round of district play 6-0, and how the team will approach the next round.
“It feels great to finish that first round of district play knowing the circumstances we have been under (No Court No Problem),” Banks said. “We are just focusing on one team at a time.”

On Sept. 27, Morris Upchurch Middle School’s volleyball program took on Redwater.
The seventh grade A team fell short although Abigail Bickham led the way with six points and Macy Snelgrove added five.
The seventh grade B team won with Ariana Robinson scoring eight points and Emerson Wilbanks posting five of her own.
The eighth grade A team won in two sets, 25-16, 25-19, with Laekin Campbell contributing 10 points and Makayla Jackson recording eight.
Queen City
On Sept. 28, Queen City’s high school volleyball program played Hooks.
The varsity squad came up just short after battling hard throughout the night.
QC won set one 25-18 but Hooks won the next two 22-25, 10-25.
The Lady Bulldogs won set four 25-22 but came up just short in the fifth and decisive set 12-15.
Lauren Carrell had 11 kills, six aces, seven digs, two blocks and 12 service points; Chyna Stiger added 12 kills, two aces, eight digs and nine service points; Mallori Stringer posted five kills, six digs, 26 assists and six service points; Brenna Turbeville published 11 digs and seven service points and Jamecia Cook had three blocks.
The JV 1 team beat the Lady Hornets 25-19, 25-14, with Madison Bailey leading the way with five kills and two blocks; Jacey Cauthorn chipping in seven service points and Courtney Price adding six more.
In the JV 2 game the Lady Bulldogs split with Hooks 25-17, 26-28.
Laurel Moore and Macey Granderson had two kills each; Lola Gladden served up two aces and five service points and Ruby McCasland added six service points for QC.
On Oct. 1, Queen City hosted Paul Pewitt in a varsity-only match.
QC won the first match 25-23 but Pewitt won the next two matches 16-25, 19-25.
The Lady Bulldogs battled in set four and won 25-22, but fell just short of a win after Pewitt won the deciding set 10-15.
Chyna Stiger had a full 20 kills, six digs and two aces; Mallori Stringer had 48 assists, five kills and five digs; Nyla Harrison added eight kills, four blocks and eight service points; Jamecia Cook had six kills and six blocks, Lauren Carrell posted seven kills and Trinity Oden had five kills.
