Queen City tops Pittsburg

Queen City’s varsity volleyball team played Pittsburg Sept. 10, which just happened to be Homecoming night.

It was a thrilling match as the two teams went back-and-forth, but in the end the Lady Bulldogs pulled out the win in five sets.

Lady Dawgs Varsity team played at home tonight for Homecoming against Pittsburg, The Dawgs sure did put on a show, going to 5 sets and pulling in the win.

Chyna Stiger led QC with 17 service points, six of those aces, three digs and seven kills; Lauren Carrell added a season high 14 kills and five digs; Mallori Stringer posted 29 assists, six kills, five digs and two blocks; Trinity Oden had eight service points, four of them aces and five kills and Brenna Turbeville recorded 14 digs.

QC volleyball collect wins

Queen City’s high school volleyball program tussled with Ore City Sept. 7.

The varsity squad lost its first two sets, 27-25 and 25-16, but came back and won the last three sets, 25-14, 25-18, 15-9, to seal the win.

Lauren Carrell had 12 kills four aces, five digs and seven service points; Nyla Harrison recorded six kills, three aces, four digs and 17 service points; Mallori Stringer helped out with four setting kills, three aces, two blocks and assisting in 36 kills throughout the night, Jamecia Cook posted eight kills and six blocks; Trinity Oden had five kills, three blocks and four aces and Chyna Stiger had four kills and seven service points.

The junior varsity team steamrolled the Lady Rebels by scores of, 25-6, 25-14.

Jacey Cauthorn had 10 service points and one kill and Paitynn Weeks added 10 service points.
