Atlanta
The Lady Rabbits finished up district play by beating both DeKalb and Redwater.
Atlanta topped DeKalb on Oct. 20, in four sets.
Atlanta won the first two sets, 25-21, 25-15, before the Lady Bears took set three, 25-20. The Lady Rabbs sealed the deal with a, 25-14, victory in the fourth set.
The Lady Rabbits downed Redwater in four sets on Oct. 23.
Redwater won the first set, 25-21, but Atlanta swept the rest of the sets by scores of, 25-15, 25-18, 25-21.
Atlanta finished second in district and will play Mt. Pleasant Chapel Hill at 6 p.m. Oct. 29, at Paul Pewitt High School.
Queen City
Queen City’s volleyball squad dropped a hardfought game to Redwater Oct. 20.
Freshman setter Mallori Stringer led the Bulldogs with six service points and eight digs.
Junior Chyna Stiger led with five kills, 11 digs and chipped in four service points and two aces for the Lady Bulldogs while senior Claire Bates added two kills, two aces, one block and five digs.
Freshman Alex Larry rocked the backrow with 16 digs, sophomore setter Rylie Pattillo set for four assists and five digs.
The JV 1 team lost to Redwater although Jordyn Jones served eight service points for the Lady Bulldogs, and the JV 2 team lost with Payton Boone serving up six service points.
Queen City varsity dropped a hard fought game to Hooks Oct. 23, taking them to five matches at 25-21, 13-25, 16-25, 25-21, 14-16.
Freshman libero Serenity Oden led the Bulldogs with 20 service points with six aces and 18 digs, junior Chyna Stiger dominated with six kills, 26 digs, chipped in nine service points and posted two aces for the Lady Bulldogs.
Senior Claire Bates added eight kills, three blocks and six digs, freshman Alex Larry added six kills and nine digs, freshman setter Mallori Stringer contributed 11 assists, and four digs while sophomore setter Rylie Pattillo helped out with eight assists.
Freshman Lauren Carrell added six aces, five kills and two blocks as well.
M.U.M.S.
M.U.M.S. volleyball played Paul Pewitt Oct. 26, and swept all contests.
The seventh grade A team won, 25-14, 25-14. Makayla Jackson and Dori Sasser led with eight service points and Kerian Thomas added four.
The seventh grade B team won, 25-12, 25-7. Amiyah Young led with 15 service points, Isabella Sullivan added 12 and Dazya Jackson chipped in four aces.
The eighth grade A team won, 25-12, 24-26, 25-16. Brenna Tuberville led with 10 service points, Taylor Ward and Macy Granderson added eight service points each. Keeli Mainer dominated with five kills, while Granderson, Ward and Courtney Price added three kills each.
The eighth grade B team won, 25-13, 21-5. Zoe Breach led with eight service points, Alyssa Delgado added seven and Sailor Yount added five.
