Tigers tame Lions 40-30

Linden-Kildare played Union Grove Oct. 1, in the KYKX Game of the week.

The game was a back-and-forth affair if you look at the boxscore except for the second quarter where the Tigers lit up the scoreboard for 20 points.

L-K ended up winning the game 40-30 behind a nice collective effort.

The game was tied 8-8 after the first quarter of play but L-K posted 20 points in the second frame and had a 28-16 lead at the half.

The Lions outscored L-K 14-12 in the second half but the big second quarter for L-K proved too much for the Lions to overcome.

Mason Johnson passed for 39 yards on just two attempts and that one long pass was a 39-yard floater to Jonathan Owen.

The run game was on full display in this contest as the Tigers racked up 339 yards on the ground.

Russel Nance had 208 yards on 15 carries with four touchdowns and a long run of 56 at one point in the contest.
